‘Taste of Berry’ bags three awards in Italy

Iran’s short ‘Taste of Berry’ snatches 3 awards at Corto e a capo int'l film festival in Italy.

Iran’s short ‘Taste of Berry’ has managed to snatch three awards at Corto e a capo (short and new) international film festival in Italy.

Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Saturday that ‘Taste of Berry’ won the Best Film award at the international competition of the 5th Corto e a capo.

According to the report, the film also grabbed the awards for Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing.

Written and directed by Ahmad Seyyed-Keshmiri, the film narrates the story of a young man who intends to commit suicide. He climbs a berry tree and tastes the fruit by chance, a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Taste of Berry’ is an adaptation of the late Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami's ‘Taste of Cherry’.

‘Taste of Berry’ also received the No Budget Spirit award at the Top Indie Film Awards in 2018 and was nominated for two other awards at the same event.

The 5th Corto e a capo took place in the Italian southern region of Campania last month.
